Tis been a year since I’ve been back from the states. Life happened and it has been rather freaky – the rate at which time has flown by. Going for reconstructive surgery on my knee definitely changed my lifestyle and for lack of a better description – made me all cautious and lazy. It is sad that I haven’t been able to pick up on it and recover completely, but that is only temporary. That will all change this coming new year.
The family suffered two losses this year – But it also brought us, and the extended family closer together. Strength through adversity some like to call it. Rest in peace and watch over us grandma (Patti) & Sanju. We will always keep you in the strength of our spirit.
My personal lack of major accomplishments aside, I have had the honor of meeting some of the most wonderful and humble people I have ever known, this year. They have showed me what it is like, to fight for our passions…for our dreams. Some of them lead two lives just to keep one of their dreams alive. Most of us, we think, we think big…but we really don’t. Thinking BIG entails a plan and a plan for execution. Most of us get stuck with a mental plan. But it is nothing but a visualization of potential achievements. Actualization only takes place when we execute a plan. How well we execute it, is a whole other matter altogether. These guys? They are enroute to actualization. More importantly, there are many of us who do not dare do what they do – which is to risk a practical and safe life for a dream. But for many of us who do not dare, we live our dreams thru their eyes. Thank you for being my inspiration – you know who you are.
I’m sure you will agree, we are not getting any younger and time will always run out. These clichés are clichés for a reason – it is the Truth.
You are your own hero, remember that always. No one else can save you, and no one else can do what you do. Fight for your dreams,… there is no time for regrets. While you’re chugging ahead though, remember to pay it forward. Not all of us have the luxury of leading normal lives. Contentment is key.
BIG SHOUTOUT to my Mom, Dad and Nani who have been supportive of my brothers and I, and for making this family what it is today. And my friends, you know who you are. It doesnt matter if I just met you, we’re in each others lives for a reason I assure you. Thank you for always being there, giving me strength and for putting that smile on my face. Our little conversations, though sometimes few and far between due to our busy lives, mean more to me than you will ever know.
“People will hate you, rate you, shake you, and break you… But how strong you stand is what makes you.”
ROCK THE NEW YEAR AHEAD!!
Peace out,
