“And so another year has come and gone. Let us, this time, do it differently. A chance should be seized when such chances are given. Instead of new resolutions, let us perhaps resolve to fulfil all resolutions of past.
Let us hope not toward goals but to always be hopeful and never see despair. Let us, instead of aiming for an elusive happiness, recognise the happiness of everyday. Let us dream in the night the sweetest dreams, and in the day, act on those very dreams.
Let us be dangerous in spirit, so as not to take anything for granted, but to make each day a full one. Let us not seek love as we desperately do, but love ourselves that love may find us true.
Let us find beauty in everything, and be aligned, and come out this day next year, devastatingly beautiful too.”

2012 began on a dim note for me, but ended on a high I never expected. If anything at all, this year has made me a much stronger, patient, and determined person. Through the ups and downs, I’ve met some amazing people and also been disappointed by old friends whom I held dear.
Respect. Respect for your friends and loved ones, and being supportive of them is one area of relationships we need to work on. A 11 year-old friendship does not mean anything if there is no respect and support. I have met good people this past year, and it has allowed me to look past a group of individuals I once respected – the ones who are often dogmatic in their opinions. I have had to defend myself against the opprobrium hurled on me. I can take criticism. But I don’t need bullshit. Positive and honest people are all I need around me. Be constructive. And I’ll say it again:
“People will hate you, rate you, shake you, and break you… But how strong you stand is what makes you.”
All that aside, I don’t have resolutions for 2013. What I have, are thoughts and learnings that will propel me forward, and I hope they do the same for you too.
We don’t know who we really are, until we break ourselves out of our comfort zones. Cliché? Yes. Do we do it everyday? Maybe not. But here’s your opportunity.
I have always believed in throwing myself out there. And I did this year, and I will do more of it in the New Year. Spend your time deeply observing the ordinary – be inspired to be the best you can be.
There is something wonderfully gratifying about being optimistic and creating something new. Collaborate, bounce ideas off of people, do whatever it takes. Prototype your life and make discoveries. Otherwise, you’re nothing but a journeyman. Your job will mean nothing 20 years from now. It is what you create outside of it that will mould you. Feed your soul.
I know it’s a long note, but my last point stems from an article by Jim Collins – The Undisciplined Pursuit of More. Know when to stop… money isn’t everything. Having more of it helps…sure. Changing yourself to achieve it? HELL NO. Run your own race.
Your time is now.
Bring it on 2013.
I saw this on a post and I’m definitely doing this if I get married.
Never Give Up
”But I know the rage that drives you. That impossible anger strangling the grief, until the memory of your loved ones is just poison in your veins. And one day you catch yourself wishing the person you loved had never existed, so you’d be spared your pain.”
- Christopher Nolan.
